Former defender Jamie Carragher has analysed Manchester United‘s plans to be implemented. When Ruben Amorim takes over as club boss.
Amorim, The 39-year-old has primarily used a ‘three centre-back’ formation at Sporting Lisbon. And it is highly likely he will use the same formation at United. UFABET
Carragher has made his own analysis of what the situation will be like. With concerns over Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire. For the centre-back position, he sees Lisandro Martinez as a better fit.
“I think Martinez would be good in that position. I can’t see De Ligt or Maguire playing wide. They can’t cope. I don’t think they can play together.” Carragher said.
“Yoro will come in as a young player. He is a project for the club and I am sure the team will do well with him. He can handle the pace too.”
In midfield, Carragher said:
“When you look at Sporting, they’ve got two central midfielders who are not stationary. They’re pushing high up and they’re pushing forward. It’s about physicality, are we going to see a team with three or four players in that position? People talk about playing in that position. So it will be interesting to see how they cope with that defensively.”
“It’s interesting to see how his positioning off the ball is when he doesn’t have the best players or the best team in the league.”
Carragher said: “When you look at his team-up at Sporting. They’re asked to be tall, to play forward and they have to be good in one-on-one situations. But it depends on when United have the ball, maybe at Old Trafford.”
“But when you look at the fixtures, they’ve got Arsenal away early on and that’s what’s interesting. If you’ve got Saka and they’ve got control and they’re at home. They’re pushing forward and Garnacho is asked to come in and play left-back.”
For Carragher’s 11 players in a 3-4-3 system. Onana – Yoro, De Ligt, Martinez – Mazraoui, Ugarte, Menu, Garnacho – Bruno, Hoylund, Rashford.
